Pamela Vong '08 Participates in White House Tech Jam

December 7, 2015

Pamela Vong '08 was recently invited to participate in the first White House Tech Jam as part of National Computer Science Education Week.  Pam has been an advocate for Women in Computer Science, having been the first undergraduate our Computer Science Department sent to the Grace Hopper Conference in 2007.  Pam also attended this year's Grace Hopper Conference and spent time with our UR students at the alumni dinner held in Houston during the conference.  She has been instrumental in the Women Who Code DC Mentoring Program. All these efforts on behalf of improving the CSC pipeline most likely made her a prime candidate for being invited to take part in the White House Tech Jam.

Pamela works as a Tech Wizard for InfernoRed Technology with fellow UR alums Brian Meeker '07 and Ryan Korsak '07.  She consults in a wide range of software development projects (from LOB systems to mobile apps) and for a wide range of clients (including startups and non-profits). Some notable apps she's developed are the "Elmo Loves ABCs"  and "Call Cookie" games for Sesame Street and the "Be A Martian" app for NASA. Pam has also just finished her Master's Degree in Information & Communication Technology from the University of Denver.
